He has been a strong advocate for Europe’s transition to a more sustainable and circular economy.

He was shadow rapporteur in the Internal Market Committee (IMCO) for the text on the Sustainable Single Market for businesses and consumers, as well as on the opinion on the Action Plan for the Circular Economy.

Several issues are at the heart of his work in the European Parliament: firstly, supporting businesses towards a sustainable and ecologically virtuous economic model, in order to build a sustainable consumption and production model, while protecting consumers. Secondly, the reduction of the environmental footprint of digital technology, through the fight against premature obsolescence and the promotion of refurbishment. Finally, transparency regarding the environmental, health and safety impact of products is one of his main concerns.

He will soon be appointed shadow rapporteur for the Commission's forthcoming proposal on empowering consumers in the green transition.
