Louis Nègre

PRESIDENT OF THE GART (GROUPING OF AUTHORITIES RESPONSIBLE FOR TRANSPORT), MAYOR OF CAGNES-SUR-MER AND DELEGATE PRESIDENT OF THE NICE CÔTE D’AZUR METROPOLIS

Louis Nègre is the Deputy President of the Nice Côte d'Azur Metropolis and since 1995, he is mayor of Cagnes-sur-Mer, which was awarded the Marianne d'Or du Développement durable in 2011.

As Senator for the Alpes-Maritimes, he was the rapporteur for the Grenelle 2 Environment Round Table. He has been involved at national level in transport, flood risk management and low-carbon vehicles. He was also the rapporteur for the bill on energy transition and green growth.

He is currently President of the GART, President of FIF (Federation of Railway Industries) and co-president of the think tank TDIE (Transport Development Intermodality Environment). In 2011, he was appointed by the Minister of Ecology, Energy and Sustainable Development, and then by the Prime Minister, to work on decarbonised vehicles.

He is also the author of the green paper on electric vehicle charging infrastructure and has worked for the opening of rail transport to competition. He also co-authored a book with his colleague Bernard Soulage, entitled Quel rail après 2012 ? Le temps du politique est venu.
