Nathalie Hilmi

PHD IN ECONOMICS, SPECIALISING IN MACROECONOMICS AND INTERNATIONAL FINANCE

In 2010, she joined the Centre Scientifique de Monaco as head of the "Environmental Economics" section, and collaborated with the IAEA Environmental Laboratories to initiate correlation studies between environmental sciences and economics to better assess the socio-economic scope of impacts and costs of action versus inaction on carbon emissions.

She is in charge of the coordination, preparation and organisation of the workshop series "Bridging the gap between the consequences of ocean acidification and economic assessment", organised in Monaco, the fifth edition of which will be held in October 2021.

In 2011, she obtained her Habilitation to direct research (HDR) by defending a topic on "a multidisciplinary approach to sustainable development".

She is lead author of the IPCC Special Report on the Ocean and Cryosphere in the Context of Climate Change (SROCC) and of the next IPCC main report, AR6, which will be released in 2022.
