He started his career as a researcher at Berkeley before entering the oil industry. He joined the insurance sector in 1985 at Azur Assurances, where he held the positions of IT Director and Operations Director, before being appointed Chief Executive Officer in 1997, then Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in 1998. He joined Swiss Life in 2000 as Chief Executive Officer and became President of the Group in France in 2003. In 2008, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of AGF, then in 2010 Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Allianz France. Since January 2021, Jacques Richier is Chairman of Allianz France.
