Marc Vergnet
PRESIDENT OF MASCARA, FRANCE
He is an agricultural engineer, and he is the chief engineer of the Rural Engineering of Water and Forests, as well as the Expert at the Cooperation (political sciences).
From 1969 to 1973, he was Deputy Director of Hydraulics and Rural Equipment Invention of the VERGNET Hydropump and of a low temperature thermodynamic solar engine in Burkina Faso. He also created the Rural Development Fund (World Bank / AFD).
From 1973 to 1980, he was Deputy Director of SOFRETES, the French Company for Thermal Studies and Solar Energy (shareholders: CEA, TOTAL, CGE, Régie Renault, ALSTOM etc.).
From 1980 to 1988, he was Head of Renewable Energies at AFME (ADEME)
From 1988 to 2012, he wasChairman o f the VERGNET Group, which he founded (300 employees, listed on ALTERNEX, €120M turnover).
In 2014, he became president of MASCARA Nouvelles Technologies (solar membrane treatment of sea water, brackish water, unhealthy water), which he co-founded.
He is also the founder of the Syndicat des Energies Renouvelables (SER), and he was a member of the scientific council of ADEME for 8 years. Finally, he was engineer of the year 2007 (Usine Nouvelle).
He filed 30 patents of which more than half are exploited.
